IFU is the Fund manager for its sister Funds, IØ (the “Investment Fund for Central and Eastern Europe”) IFV (the “Investment Fund for Emerging Markets”). The three Funds are collectively termed the Danish International Investment Funds.IFU, the oldest and largest of the three Funds, has invested in more than 680 projects since its inception in 1967. IØ operates in central and eastern Europe. IFV was set up to improve opportunities for Danish businesses to establish operations in emerging markets. All three Funds are members of the European Development Finance Institutions (EDFI), an organisation founded by its 16 development- and financing-institution members to promote and foster co-operation between them. EDFI’s mission is also to strengthen links with the EU Commission and its institutions, including the European Investment Bank (EIB).
